Success Story – Dec – Betty Moats
Mrs. Betty Moats lived with her husband very independently with her mobility and even drove to take care of errands for her and her husband. Unfortunately, Mrs. Moats had an episode that caused her to fall at home and was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with a neck fracture. The Therapy team focused her treatment on rebuilding strength, restoring mobility, relieving pain, and regaining the skills to help Betty achieve her goals: “To go home and do all the things I did before.”. The therapist also challenged her with activities she would encounter every day at home, like navigating uneven surfaces, such as going from a concrete surface to grass, and climbing stairs. Congrats to Mrs. Moats and all the progress she has made to return home!

Success Story – Sept – Betty Shank
We are excited to highlight Ms. Betty Shank this month for her success in her therapy! Betty is a resident of Julia Manor and needed Physical Therapy to improve her walking throughout Julia Manor. She wanted to be able to walk to the dining room, to activities, and to improve her independence overall. Betty also had a great desire to use a rollator with a seat for walking in the facility. Betty worked hard with strengthening, balance, and walking tasks with the physical therapy team to improve her endurance, safety and overall functional abilities. Betty is now able to walk independently inside with the rollator and only requires supervision outdoors.
Success Story – Aug – Linda McDyer
Julia Manor would like to highlight the success of Ms. Linda McDyer! Linda came to us, unable to care for herself, after a fall at home sent her to the hospital. She experienced severe dizziness and fatigue, and regularly stayed in bed upon her arrival here. At times, Linda was hesitant to leave her room and participate fully due to feeling poorly. The Reliant Rehab therapy team put together a tailored plan in order to assist Ms. McDyer in regaining her independence. With encouragement from our staff and therapists, she started to work hard and soon found that therapy gave her hope and satisfaction.
